stament of intent

  With my poster’s I will adhere to the standards as accepted by the ASA It will not contravene any standards such as causing distress , my posters will be on a documentary series based on education called educating East Norfolk which will feature several students who come from different backgrounds. The idea comes from the popularity of television programs such as educating Yorkshire. The idea also stems from personal interest. My intention is to create posters that will draw my target audience which would be people interested in the education system which is typically a unisex demographic but would be placed into an early to late 20s demographic as a primary audience a secondary audience would be parents which shifts the demographic to middle aged. The idea for the posters would be that the font used would be something eye catching and follow the colour scheme of BBC three which is green at the moment. History of television documentaries Television documentaries have been popular since the advent of television as a way of informing and collating data as well as a good basis of propaganda it became more commonplace in the latter part of the 20 th century and became a very popular way to convey information to the masses with programmes such as Watergate which detailed the Watergate scandal and then nature documentaries like the blue planet they are normally popular as they enable education, the blue planet being seen by over 12 million people which shows how popular they are. People also tend to watch documentaries as a way of light entertainment also for the fact of the BBC’s goals is to inform to educate and to entertain. For the BBC this is shown by the amount of people who watch the documentaries with tv programmes with documentaries such as educating Yorkshire it was the most watched programme on channel 4 for the entirety of the first season
